3 Ways Town of Tioga Halloween Traditions Help Foster a Stronger Sense of Community

The Town of Tioga Halloween experience is like no other. The streets are filled with cleverly disguised ghosts and goblins and porches are aglow with jack-o-lanterns. Here are three ways Town of Tioga Halloween traditions help foster a stronger sense of community.

1. Choosing Treats Over Tricks

Homeowners have great fun transforming their homes into haunting displays just scary enough to celebrate the season. Whether it’s a glowing Jack-o-lantern on the front porch, or an extravagant ghastly display, everyone comes together to create an other-worldly experience that kids look forward to every year.

In a town designed to honor tradition, the walkable streets are filled with Halloween “spirit” inviting, and sometimes daring trick or treaters to scare themselves silly. The community comes together to admire neighbors’ Halloween haunts, with comradely competition that keeps things interesting year after year.

2. Ghosts and Goblins Are Always Welcome

Homeowners in Tioga embrace the Halloween tradition of shelling out treats to neighborhood kids. Little ghosts and goblins can be sure to find every home’s lights burning bright with welcoming, happy homeowners on front porches handing out candy. Everyone looks forward to this hair-raising holiday when kids and adults alike have a chance to transform themselves into scary, glamorous, or humorous characters just for one night. An endless parade of witches and warlocks, princesses and ninjas, ghosts and zombies provide entertainment for the entire community speaking to the town’s diversity.

3. The Streets are Alive with the Dead

There’s more than one way to fill your treat bag with Halloween candy in Tioga. A golf cart community where the streets are alive with the dead Halloween night, residents have so much fun decorating their golf carts and roaming the streets in full costumes.  With a little imagination residents transform their golf carts into ghoulish chariots that carry them from home to home visiting neighbors, chaperoning kids, and enjoying the night!
